I worked at a paper mill once that had a giant stainless steel blender 10-12 across, 8 feet deep and blades like airplane props for use in blending up bales of pure white paper to add to the slurry if the color had to be adjusted.

A narrow catwalk with a low rail around the top brought to mind a fear of that white slurry turning pink.

I worked for an attorney who represented a 19 year old guy who lost his arm at a saw mill. The owner didn’t have worker’s comp insurance and the kid was working under the table. The owner of the company was supposed to pay the kid’s medical bills and damages. He paid a little but last I heard he had stopped paying. It was really sad. Some occupations just aren’t worth the money.
