Runoff voter turnout appears to be up (Mississippi)

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - At the Ocean Springs Civic Center, the lines were long as voters waited to cast their ballots. The turnout surprised some poll workers, like Paula Clifford.

"I am. I'm very surprised at what we've had so far. We've had more people come in and vote this time than we had the last time," Clifford explained.

Voters, like Robert Kline, seem to sense that something big is about to happen, no matter who wins.

"This is very important to our state, picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do," Kline said.

At the St. Martin Community Center, it's much the same. The parking lot is full. Also full is the roadside curb, full of campaign signs for the two candidates. Jim Sumrall is the Poll Manager here.

They just said there was 50,000 more voters in the runoff than the primary election. This is definitely not normal.

Have fun with your new best friends, Thaddie. Don’t come crying to me when they pimp slap you in the general election and send you home.

EVERY person that voted for McDaniel should feel disenfranchised and not vote for Thad. I know I couldn’t.

I wish McDaniel would run as a 3rd party candidate.

He should run as a write-in.

If he doesn’t run as a third party, wouldn’t it be fitting if McDaniel’s voters voted for the Democrat in the general election? Use the slimeballs tactic against him to get rid of him once and for all.

The ESTABLISHMENT has just about already screwed up the opportunity to take the senate this year. They care about nothing but POWER.

They lost me tonight.

Don’t give up just yet!

From what I’ve seen, McDaniel obtained the services of several attorneys before today’s election, just in case it was close. We’ll see what his options are.

If it turns out that he isn’t on the general election ballot, you always have the write in option.

I never, ever thought I would see such overt corruption in my life, except from the dems.
