Former Gov. Haley Barbour (R-MS), a supporter of Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), criticized Cochrans primary challenger, Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel, while admitting that Democrats were voting for Cochran in the run-off in an appearance on MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell Reports.
Barbour attacked McDaniel for his opposition to federal education funding, and argued that this position is driving individuals to vote for Cochran, stating why are a lot of people very concerned about this race that didn't vote three weeks ago? Because McDaniel said federal funding of education is unconstitutional.

Way to eat your own, you stupid b******
Old boys network. Doesn’t matter that they are against what we stand for. It’s still the old boys after all
FAT B**TARD!!!!
Taf tasbard.... this will make McDaniels victory even sweeter after this attempted sabotage by Baboon.
Ping.
Really? Mississippi's low information voters are turning out because of something as arcane as this?

I recall in ‘94 Barbour was over the RNC and advocated closing the dept of education
I believe McDaniels will emerge victorious.
I’ve gotten 2 real live GOTV calls (out of 3 real live GOTV calls today) today that stated that very thing. Insisted property taxes would skyrocket because MS wouldn’t get its fair share of federal funding.
Oh, and that McDaniel would cut social security for seniors.
I’m in Bennie Thompson’s district which went strongly Cochran last time so they’re really pulling all the stops to get people to the polls today for him.
If Cochran wins with RAT votes tonight, State House and Senate members
who supported Cochran and this dirty trick will pay a heavy price.
It is also possible McDaniel voters will not show up to vote in the general
or show up and not vote for Cochran.
Hopefully for every RAT vote, there will be an equal number of new
McDaniel voters to counter this dirty and desperate trick.
And we're supposed to believe Barbour that the constitutionality of education spending is what is turning people out?

Actually I think we’re 49th or 50th in education. Clearly Thad’s been doin’ a GREAT job over the past 40 years!
this is called sheer desperation. the GOPe has nothing else.
they have an old plow horse in the Kentucky Derby and they are trying to throw mud on the thoroughbred in the race.
It’s the absentee ballots we have to worry about.
Barbour needs to change party affiliation.
Nobody will believe Barbour again if he does this against one of his own and then loses.
However, that won't stop country club Republicans from bringing him back into the fold next week.

Fat Boy needs a splintered baseball bat “gently” inserted up his corn hole! Exactly where in the U.S. Constitution is the federal government given the power to fund or regulate education? This is why I have declared war on the GOPe ... Whatever it takes to defeat these pricks, I am game.
I don’t buy this fatass’ bit about Cochran voters who thought he was safe turning out for the runoff. This election comes down to 2 up/down factors.
- A smaller turnout with McDaniel’s supporters more motivated, and therefor making up a larger share of the electorate
- New Democrats courted by Cochran coming in from the Delta region.
For McDaniel to win, the first factor has to outdo the second.
