A few years back some teenagers managed to get on a NJ Walmart PA system and announce that all black people had to leave the store.
Why, yes, Virginia, that was national news, about how far we have to go, and how these teens did not realize what black people had suffered, and how our educational system was lacking if something like this could still happen.
But Virginia, that was a racist incident, albeit committed by young and ignorant people.
This incident in Arkansas was not a racist incident. It was gang-related, and the victim was in the wrong place in the wrong time, and the blow she suffered does not resonate with centuries of suffering inflicted by a racist society, and it is entirely appropriate that coverage is local and focusing on gangs and the sad randomness of life.
It is inappropriate that someone should have posted the article on a right-wing extremist national forum in an attempt to suggest that black people can be racist. Racism can only be practiced by those who have institutional power.
The power to maim, and destroy, and kill, is not real power.
I detect sarcasm?
