“And how many Democrat US senators would that create?”

Having lived all 55 of my years in California I have some insite. The Orange, Red and Blue areas of the map would most likely break Republican. The yellow area would be a toss up and the Green + Purple areas Dead Zones.

On second thought the yellow area would break Dead Zone, so it would be about a 6/6 split in Senators.

All of this is academic nonsense.. but for the sake of argument I find it hard to believe that liberals (that run California) would allow a split to occur that gives pubs half or more of the new states. Maybe their gerrymandering work is not complete yet. :-)
