The libertarian isolationists don't see that with no one left to stand up for it “libertarianism” (classical western liberal government) is a dead footnote in history now.

I think the previous sequence of events was this:

* Russia threatens Poland that if they allow USA missile defence base they will hurt them economically
* Poland allowed the base
* Russia hurt them economically
* Obama came to power and cancelled the base anyway

The Poles asked for a permanent military base after Russia invaded Ukraine. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, There are Multi national NATO units there. Units made of Poles, Germans and Danes with some American representation. Poles vs Russians is like Sunni vs Shiites. Both of them look down their noses at the other.
