This revelation showed up in several related threads yesterday:
IRS Emails Backed Up by Outside Email Archiving Company
Sonasoft Software Licenses and Software Maintenance Support (Details of IRS Email Services)
The IRS’s IT integrator stands to lose BIGTIME if the lie stands as the truth. The Statement of Work and other areas of the RFP and bid documents assure backup, archiving, document retrieval, all kinds of redundancy, mirror sites, etc.
The Contracting Office at IRS has the responsibility to investigate non-performance and such as alleged by these liars. The IRS IG has responsibility for investigating ALL of it.
The people with a vested interest in the lie being unraveled are available to reporters, and it’s easy enough to indicate to them (gently) that you are doing a story about their failure to do their job, meet their contract requirements, etc.
I did this stuff for years. This one isn’t even difficult. There are hundreds of people ready to say their system worked, they did their job, they complied with the contract requirements, etc.
There’s probably even a minority 8a in the soup somewhere that a reporter could use for a little more leverage.
Excellant points.
We just don’t have the “power of the State and Justice Dept” to frighten smaller fish.
All very good....in theory.
In actual point of fact (and with a very low bow to your years of experience in the field), can you name ONE media source that would even briefly consider researching, let alone breaking this story?
...no, you don’t get to use Breitbart as a freebee. They’re all racists, y’know.
