I’ll never hear that Marty Robbins song again without stirring up an image of the Courier walking the Nevada wasteland.
My grandfather used to listen to those songs a lot and the stuff/musicians from that era. It’s not ‘my music’ since i’m an 80s kid but I actually like it and occasionally hit Youtube for the nostalgia.
It’s hokey, cheezy and out of it’s time. But it’s still actually ‘good’ music from an era people didn’t need autotune and could play their instruments.
