The Texas Governor has not yet committed to run, but he is boasting about getting his ducks in a row.
Two-and-a-half years after his first campaign for the White House flopped, Texas Governor Rick Perry sounds ready for another run at the presidency. Im glad I ran in 2012, as frustrating, as painful and as humbling as that experience was, Perry told a group of national reporters at a Thursday lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.
Preparation is the single most important lesson that I learned out of that process, he said. Over the last 18 months, Ive focused on being substantially better prepared. Please dont take that as an indication that Ive made a decision that Im going to run or notbut if I do make that decision, I will be prepared.

Was praising Hillary part of that preparation?
The new Texas GOP has rejected everything he stood for.
A fools errand. Perry needs to take a long, hard look at his strengths and weaknesses. He will only humiliate himself IMO.
I agree.
Some of the Perry faithful say that Reagan did not win his first time around. I am well aware of that as I worked on Reagan's 1976 campaign. But Perry is no Reagan. And he never will be.
I agree. He has had a long successful career as Governor. I suppose it’s a matter of a Southern Gentleman’s pride. He wants to make sure his message gets out this time. If Rick Perry starts telling jokes in public about his series of Brain Freezes in 2012, I will know he’s serious about climbing back in that crowded ring. Palin will not be in the ring, too many conservatives either believe the DIM talking points, or remain disappointed at her eight month Fan Dance of Futility from 2012. I wish she had run, but as much as she was and continues to be trashed in the media, why keep putting yourself and your family through those firey rings of scrutiny. If Perry get back in, I predict Mitt will immediately drop plans to get in, for the same reasons Sarah accepted.
As well it should. With all that is happening on the Texas/Mexico border I wouldn't think many have forgotten Perry's pro-ILLEGAL alien past.
He made an ass out of himself at CPAC 2014. He seems fake, fake, fake. See for yourself:

Yes, Perry is fake, but he has many fooled.
btw..thanks for the link. :-)
Wow. That CPAC 2014 speech is pretty bad. He’s obviously spent a lot of time with a public speaking coach. And the effect is... he looks like a guy who’s spent a lot of time with a public speaking coach. That was painful to watch.
And the sad part is, his policy prescriptions are correct: cut taxes and regulation, which is what Texas is done.
I think Perry would make a good president... but his chances of ever getting there are vanishingly close to zero.
He will end up saying something controversial, and then apologize for it. Like he did the other day with the comment about gayness vs. Alcoholism. He was right with the comment but he apologized instead of standing his ground. He simply cannot survive the intense pressure from the media. Our candidates have to be twice as slick as a dem candidate.
Did those troops he promised arrive at the border yet or was that just campaign talk.
There was nothing wrong with Rick Perry or his CPAC speech. He at least acts and sounds like an authentic Texan, not some ivy league stuffed shirt.

Bingo.
I’m not a huge fan of Perry, but do admire the job he and Texas has done. That being said, I do think he is somewhat of fake. I think he is less of a fake than Rubio or Carson.
I don’t know why he doesn’t run for a Senate Seat in Texas. He would make a horrid President. I don’t know how he expects to win without my vote.
Have a great weekend Sout40!!!!! Haven’t seen you in awhile....hope all is well.
I think some of these guys (Huckabee, Santorum, Perry) buy into the idea that you have a big advantage if you’ve run before. We were all told that McCain and Romney were favorites for that reason.
