As a contractor, I will tell you that all Middle Eastern types are on the low end of customers, but with Muslims I learned to not waste time on them, tell them what is and demand to see the money, and if they still hired me anyway, to get the money in advance and keep it shallow.
Middle Eastern people are interested in beating you, it is some kind of cultural thing they are driven to do, they see doing things that would shame and embarrass a traditional American, as them winning over you.
It is similar to the cultural divide between Indians and settlers, the settlers thought stealing was disgusting and a mark of a degraded man, while the Indians saw it as the highest aspiration of a real man.
A horse thief to a settler was scum, to an Indian, a leader and a man to be respected, well that is what it is like with a Muslim when he calls you out to do a simple job.
I remember reading something about that. There was an article here a long time ago that went into some depth on the why behind it but yea, it was a cultural thing. Wish I’d kept it.
Hell just look at all the pre PC literature. the stereotype of Akbar the shifty merchant came from somewhere.
