Money. Breaking American wages to Calcutta levels and calling it a "world wage". They've been at it for 175 years.
In the 1850's, Lewis Tappan and J.M. Forbes (as in, "Capitalist Tool") tried to popularize the idea of "emancipating" black slaves, sending them "home" to West Africa, and replacing them with millions of Chinese coolies.
Demographic disaster (imagine the civil-rights movement with the Chinese government standing behind the protesters and trying to get the U.N. to send troops to America to jerk us up straight), but hell, did those guys care? To them, everything was an arithmetic problem ..... then as now, they absolutely didn't and don't care about social consequences of their mass screwing with American society.
They're rich. They'll always be okay, no matter what. They don't care.
