The vast majority of GOPe will support Gillespe.
There are probably 5000 current and former GOP people. A few will cross.
Maryland democrat Governor William Donald Schaeffer supported Bush 41 over Clinton and the last sentence of his endorsement “and I hope this endorsement will not be held against the people of Maryland.”
In 1980, a large group of democrats formed the ABC club (Anybody but Carter).
Big deal.
In any election, probably 10 percent of a party will cross to vote for the other guy.
“you hardly ever see rats endorsing pubs”
Democrat governor William Schaffer endorsed Bush 41 over Clinton.
Schaffer also called former Maryland governor Parris Glendenning “a really bad man”
And Joe Lieberman spoke at the republican convention in 2008 in support of McCain over Obama.
The entire republican establishment including President Bush 41 endorsed “the crook” democrat governor Edwin Edwards over republican and former KKK member David Duke.
The republicans had bumper stickers saying “vote for the crook”. Edwards later was convicted of accepting bribes and sent to jail.
None who endorsed Warner is a current office holder.
They are all former office holders.
“I mean Warners gonna win in a landslide but ... yeah.”
