Incorrect. Ukraine started this "war" or whatever you want to call it when a bunch of protesters were able to overthrow their own government. Putin just took advantage of the chaos to grab Crimea. They sure didn't put up a fight did they?
Then the provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk Declared themselves fee of the illegal government in Kiev much like the 13 colonies declared their independence from England. They are the ones pleading for Russia to come to their rescue.

Putin declared war on Ukraine when he invaded their territory unprovoked. Ukraine did not attack Russia. Russia attacked Ukraine.
The stupid terrorist thugs who have siezed Donetsk and Luhansk are not anything like the American patriots. They are like the Tories who wanted the English to “come to their rescue.”
