Reparations were paid in lives, blood and lost limbs between 1861 and 1865.
For every five slaves freed one white man gave his life, and many others gave arms and legs.

Remember this, the only people that were slaves were black is the drum beat. how about all those others that lived in slavery? The Poles , Slaves and Irish and Italians and other Europeans that was indentured servitude. All this is a money grab and a way to deepen the divide.

Another hustle like the Pigford settlements. No matter what you pay, it will never be enough.

Does Derek Jeter's mother pay his dad? Tiger Woods'? Halle Berry's? Barack Obama's? Are Jamaicans black but not African Americans? Do families of soldiers who fought for the South pay families of those who fought for the North? My ancestors came after slavery ended, why should I pay? (as Mr. Williams pointed out)

It's another Pigford scam. Used by the Administration to deflect attention to how awful things are employment-wise, scandal-wise and foreign policy-wise.

Well, if we're talking about reparations, let's not forget there were BOTH black and white slave owners at the time of the Civil War. In fact, the first slave owner, Anthony Johnson (a free black man and farmer), sued his Virginia neighbor for return of his property, an indentured black man named John Casor. Johnson won his case and Casor was bound over to him as a slave for life in 1655. By contrast, blacks were not bound over to whites until 1670.

So, are the ancestors of black American slave owners going to get a pass? Remember, we are talking to the bigots at the Holder Dept. of Justice Civil Rights Division. You bet they get a pass because it's all about getting whitey.

[Note to Holder's idiots: I have two great grand uncles on my father's side that fought for the Union and emancipation of the slaves. On my mother's side, Grandpa and Grandma came to the U.S. from Sweden in 1900-1910. They never owned or saw a slave. If there's any reparations, I want blacks paying ME for my great grand uncle's service in the Civil War to liberate the oppressed. Screw these race baiters and race hustlers.]
