Hickenlooper: Staffer promised Id sign gun law I never thought would pass, and by the way, its totally ineffective!
I think a lot of people didnt know how much emotion was gonna come out of the high-capacity magazines. [We] probably would have looked for something different or a different approach.
One of my staff made the commitment that we would sign it it got passed. To be honest, no one in our office thought it would get through the legislature.
If wed known it was going to divide the state so intensely, I think we probably would have thought about it twice In the end, how important really was it?
After all the kerfuffle, I went back to try to get some facts we should have had at the beginning. They told me there are roughly 300,000 magazine that carry more than 15 rounds in the state of Colorado already Hows a police enforcement officer going to tell which is the old one and which is the new one? How much of a difference is it gonna make if there are that many?
Some punk kid in Aurora wants to go out there and start spray shooting his neighborhood, which is still happening, in Aurora, in Denver, in Colorado Springs. Its not like youre gonna have a hard time finding a magazine.
This is vid from the same event at which Gov. Hickenlooper was awkwardly apologizing to Colorado Sheriffs whom he ignored in the gun debate in favor of Michael Bloomberg and, well, no one with any facts or experience with firearms, apparently. He was later found to be lying when denying talking to Bloomberg. Our 2nd Ad rights are in the best of hands.

Well, we’ve voted with our $$$. After they passed that law, we cancelled longstanding reservations for renting a vacation home that we’d enjoyed for several years. Nor will we buy gas, supplies, etc when we drive through Colorado or stay within the state.

Good Question - repealing the law would be the solution wouldn’t it?
He and other of his ilk have forgot the adage that one shouldnt issue orders that cant be enforced it undermines authority.
