"No, an invasion is an army." Only in our standardized version of what constitutes 'symmetrical' conflicts. More and more hostilities here and abroad are no longer one army simply pitted against another, as in WW II, but 'asymmetrical' actions utilizing non-conventional means and technically what are called 'non state actors'.
This invasion falls into this latter category.
