Uh...you know that they actually didn't, right? If you had been at the Alamo in 1836, and you told Crockett and Bowie they didn't have enough manpower, you would have been 100% correct.
I mean...I get your point here, but sometimes invoking the memory of the Battle of the Alamo isn't a productive exercise in logic. ;-)

Why yes, I did, and that was the point.
They were badly outnumbered but it didn’t deter them from trying to hold their ground.
Unlike Mr. Perry, who probably would have tried to cut a deal with Santa Anna...and end up dead for his efforts.
