So true. It is time to stop allowing entry without being in a quota system that sets a set number each year for the absorption of new immigrants. A reasonable few. There is an quota for Europeans that is/was observed last I knew Fines and ouster of those attempting to slip in illegally is necessary. With serious consequences for offender. The problem is, that ever since the creation of the UN (end of WWII) the US have considered everything in this world to be of immediate US interest.

The US have looked at the world as being divided into TWO CAMPS — theirs and the Soviet Union’s, and it has decided that they were going to be the righteous cops in the world.

But instead of acting like cops, they have tried to buy the loyalty of many criminal nations and have even sided with some. They have spent way too much on purchasing the “friendship” of many nations and got very little in return.

Keeping troops in Iraq after a government was installed we had influence over, was absolutely necessary to national security. We needed to maintain a base of operation there to assure terrorists hostile to this nation didn't takeover the country.

It would be equally stupid to pull out of Afghanistan and not leave troops there for the same reason.
