Louisiana's 5th District congressional race has a new candidate with a "Duck Dynasty" connection.
Zach Dasher, a Republican whose uncle is the TV family patriarch Phil Robertson, announced Monday that he's running for the seat in the Nov. 4 election.

He says he received the support of his family - including his famous uncles and cousins - before announcing his candidacy.

This kind of thing turned out badly last time, and we ended up with an adulterous RINO. Just get a solid conservative in there please
No, he’s not running for re-election.
I thought he backtracked.

Dasher and his wife Jil have four children, and they are members of Whites Ferry Road
Church of Christ. Duck Commander Phil Robertson is his mothers brother. Last year,
the Robertson family supported US Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA5) who was caught this spring
on video kissing a married staffer.

The La Primary is a jungle primary in that all candidates are listed and you pick one.
The primary is held on Nov. 4, 2016. Any runoff will be held in Dec. 6, 2014. Filing
is Aug. 21-23, 2014.
McAllister initially said he would not seek re-election after the security video
became public in April, but hes been less definitive recently, saying he’ll make
a decision by the August candidate sign-up period.*******
Other announced candidates so far include: Harris Brown, a Republican businessman from
Monroe; Ed Tarpley of Alexandria, a Republican and former Grant Parish district
attorney; and Clay Grant, a Libertarian from Boyce.

I suspect if he got the backing of his family that he’s a conservative.
Not that an investigation will go anywhere, but McAllister's newest foray into the media spotlight is certainly evidence of the guy's knack for getting the wrong sort of publicity. The most recent article on NOLA.com repeated the "not seeking re-election" blurb. I guess we'll see.
They backed McAlister.
Reminds me of the story about Larry Flynt when he was offering a million dollars for proof of a Congressman being unfaithful to his wife. After a few hundred calls he had to announce the truth - that he ONLY WANTED DIRT ON Republicans. Apparently unfaithful dems are a dime a dozen.
