I remember it well. My first car in college (jr year) was a new
‘69 VW Bug, navy blue w/ white interior and crank sunroof.
I've always enjoyed that (photo) of that VW commercial...
It ran only a few times, Wash. DC Establish. didn't like it.

That was a spoof ad run in National Lampoon. They caught all kinds of hell for that from VW North America. Heh.
