He loses his Senate seat by a whopping 18% in a massive blowout, moves out of PA to DC to become a lobbyist then decides to run for POTUS.
Well, for someone who had no business being there, he did a lot better than most of the rest of them. He WON Iowa, and a number of other heartland states. No one ever found the kind of stuff to distract the Cain or Gingrich campaigns. He had a natural base, which Pawlnety could not claim. Perry wasn't ready. Santorum had more staying power than Bachmann. He's not the whackadoodle that Ron Paul is, and the senate election he lost was one that NONE of the others could have even won the first time.
For my part, I'm glad that I had a social conservative to vote for.

Well....as with case with MR....(and just about everyone else for that matter)...you can find numerous instances where Santorum violated conservative orthodoxy including his support for higher minimum wage.
