I know I couldn’t take it and we only live about 12 miles from the “border”. NorCal on the eastern side of the state is beautiful and most of the folks are conservative but like most places, the big lib/prog/socialist cities control what gets passed and the little guys in the boonies are left with their pants down. Kind of like why we have a electoral college for national elections. Popular vote? No thanks.

Your's is a most accurate analysis. Except for a few "progressive" enclaves such as the university cities of Sacramento, Davis and Chico, nearly all of California 25 to 30 miles inland from the coast is conservative ... no, it's very conservative. The Valley farmers who own a good portion of the land have very little need or respect for "progressive" big government that is shoved regularly down their collective throats!
