The GWB, McCain, Grahamnsety neocons created an imaginary claim blown up fast that invading, occupying and rebuilding Iraq would be for us like it was in Europe 1945.("They will welcome us as liberators")
But Iraq wasn't France. In France 1944 our soldiers really had the people welcoming them as liberators. France was great place to be for US soldiers at the end of WWII.
That was far different from all these different Muzzie sects who hate each other and us even more.
They certainly didn’t do things the same way as during WWII either.
I don’t recall reading or seeing that the Germans were happy to see US troops on their soil. Victors do not elicit positive reactions from the vanquished.
Therein lies the problem I keep trying to tell folks. It's not a matter of nationalism or imperialism or even colonialism. They just don't have the same mind set. They are about their god and anyone who doesn't believe in THEIR god is an enemy. They are also violently opposed to different interpretations of their god, think Sunni versus Shiites.
They will never be at peace with the West, where some believe in a god (not their's) and others don't. I believe that to be every human's right.
