Chris Christie, who signed legislation barring "gay conversion therapy" in his state, said Friday that Texas Gov. Rick Perry's comparison of homosexuality to alcoholism was wrong.
"I disagree with him, and I don't believe that's an apt analogy," Christie said during a San Francisco appearance alongside Neel Kashkari, the GOP candidate for California governor.
Christie was appearing with Kashkari in his role as head of the Republican Governors Assn., but he declined to speak for the organization and its members. "Every governor and public official has to speak for themselves on these issues," he told reporters. "I just spoke for myself."
I disagree with him, and I don't believe that's an apt analogy. - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, discussing Texas Gov. Rick Perry's comparison of homosexuality to alcoholism At a question-and-answer session Wednesday night in San Francisco, Perry reiterated his belief that homosexuality was a lifestyle choice.
"Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that," Perry said. "I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that."
Perry previously made that analogy in a 2008 book, and his views were discussed during his 2012 presidential campaign. Alcoholism, Like gluttony and homosexuality can not be cured but steps CAN be made toward recovery.
Those “questioning” their sexuality are never permitted to be counseled in heterosexuality. The agenda ONLY pushes deviance.
Agreed. Neel Kashkari is bad news.
Christie continued saying: It is closer to a 4 day crack high...
Is anyone going to run for President that isn’t working to give away the country in one way or another?
So far Cruz is the only who has my vote - if he runs. It isn’t clear what the legal status of Cruz is regarding being able to run.
I didn't think we were talking about running for president, we were talking about whether or not La Raza Rick Perry was a "fine governor". He's not.
I like Cruz also. You do know that Perry both endorsed and campaigned for Cruz's opponent, David Dewhurst, don't you? If Perry had his way Cruz would never have made it to Washington. My guess is if Cruz runs for president, Perry won't support him. Cruz is a TEA Party conservative, former DemocRAT and establishment Republican Rick Perry is not.
and Perry ought to get his ass out of California, call out the state guard, the whole damn dps, every freaking jackass TABC agent and whatever other law enforcement he has control over ..put them on the border and stop this immigration nonsense ...and if a fed agent gets in the way, toss them in the county jail...perry goes on and on about state’s rights all the time ...but, when push comes to shove he’s just another big mouth wussy
