Sorry I thought this was from a different thread with a different context! (Some fellow who had a message that was a paraphrase of the bible was being given a very hard time because it was presented in the first person. I was urging them to ease up.)
Saying that God needs help is kind of risky. You have to be careful what you mean there because some connotations of that broad word, help, are wrong, and others right. God wants to bring us into His embrace in order to help us then help the Kingdom, would be a safe thing to say. As the angel (probably) said to Paul, “Come to Macedonia and help us.” Which was possible because God had helped Paul. God wants people that He in turn can help a bad situation through.
I mean, it probably was an angel... he saw a “man” in something like a vision.
