Rep Raul Labrador leaves Group (he refuses to call it Gang) of 8 on the issue of illegals getting free healthcare and explains why he did it on Fox News.
EXCERPT:
Congressman Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) was a member of the House Gang of Eight hashing out an immigration bill. Labrador prefers the term “Group of Eight” saying his mother told him “not to join gangs.”
Labrador was born in Puerto Rico, but settled in his wife’s home state of Idaho. He dropped out of the official House immigration effort, saying he’s writing his own bills to complement various enforcement measures being pushed through the House Judiciary Committee.
Labrador was short on details, but says he’ll include a guest worker program and status for the so-called Dreamers undocumented immigrants brought here as children. The other 11 million undocumented, he says, should be legalized, but not necessarily be given a path to citizenship.
“As long as we deal with all the other problems,” he says, “they should be here legally and we can determine later what that means.”
That sounds zero different from any of the other pro-amnesty plans.
Here’s the ONLY one step plan we need:
1. Total control of borders, coasts, airports, harbors, visas, through the TOTAL double fence, through increased patrols, through the application of all forms of technology.
The first guy out with that plan has my vote. Until then, they’re all just another Eric Cantor
He is a Mormon which is fine, but Flake and Hatch, who are Mormons, are big amnesty lovers. Me thinks maybe LDS is pushing to get more of their brethren into the US. Hope I am wrong. He would be a big improvement over that RINO McCarthy.
I’d vote for Rep. Raul Labrador. Its not so much his politics but his race and background that our now racist population is going to be looking at.
We need him for the wrong reasons, lets just hope he can save of for the right reasons.
I guess Beck will back him
Meh.
Another supporter of amnesty that’s not amnesty.i
Yep, Raul is THE man for the job!
Hardly anyone pays 100 percent; they just don’t pay the bill when it comes. And unless they must show ID, they may otherwise give a phony address.
I don’t trust this guy, but he’s certainly an improvement on McCarthy.
Labrodor, I guess, just wants legalization of Illegals - McCarthy wants full Amnesty.
The country loses either way.
Not that McCarthy is any better, but this is a professional "Hispanic" and lawyer to boot.
Also a cultist and therefore inherently untrustworthy.
Trouble is, some of the best House people are chairing crucially important committees, and they need to stay there. However, look for more "back benchers" (tee hee! like Gingrich, back in the day) to at least make a race of it!
It would, but since Labrador has no chance of winning then it won't.
You won't. Votes are anonymous and the meeting is closed to everyone except the representatives themselves.
“IMO that would be a pretty weak reason. It indicates to me that he is not opposed to amnesty, just particulars. I am wary of this guy.”
I agree, Ray. Look at the other names on the House and Senate Gangster lists—they were hand-picked members who were considered to be predisposed to go along with amnesty.
It looks like this is the usual choice for conservatives—bad or worse.

I second that.
No, Labrador is another amnesty guy:

I heard him on Hannidity today. He sounded like a snake oil salesman. Hannidity could never get a dire answer from him.
