Well, maybe Hensarling should just stay home, curl up with his kids, listen to the country collapsing around him and tell them about how the US used to be. This episode shows how few in Congress are really willing to fight the good fight. The solution for what is killing the country is unlikely to ever come from a Congress that has grown too comfortable with speachifying and being part of the elite who grow fat on the past wealth of the US built by people who were giants compared to the termites of today.
I seriously doubt this was his real reason. More than likely, he was threatened with committee assignments. This seems to be more important to the critters than actually serving the electorate. Yep, those wonderful, blessed committee assignments that the elite hold over their heads. Maybe the rules of assignments should be changed, but I doubt that will ever happen.
