I don’t claim that it is the be all end all answer, but we have for far too long, IMO committed category error dealing with liberalism. We all say casually that libs are insane/crazy ect. And when we do it is usually just a euphemism for ‘Freaking fool’ or something like it.
Yet they display the very real DSM4 defined traits of megalomania, malignant narcissism and a litany of other mental pathologies. They really do subscribe to atheistic ‘dogma’ that forwards the belief that each is a god unto themselves. Not in some afterlife but here, today, on Earth. They really do play games with the lives of others they consider inferior as did some of history’s most evil and powerful rulers. And as did slaveholders who were not so powerful. But were still largely ‘Democrat’.
We must start looking at the whole here. Because it is in fact how they behave. We see it demonstrated daily across society. It is what they believe because they don’t hide it...they teach it openly in schools, in television sitcoms and in political speeches. They just aren’t so up front with the words used. But regardless of the words used, people tend to end up in well defined little boxes around them. “Urban”. “Redneck”. “Ivy League”. ect. Not a lot of Rednecks allowed at the Ivy League drinking fountain. They meet Prof Alynski on the way down the hall.
And I believe it is exactly because it seems so outlandish an idea, that it has made such strides. Because rarely would anyone of ‘us’ think it was even plausible.
