When Democrats hide behind “it’s for the children,” conservatives are correctly indignant. When Republicans do the same, conservatives need to respond in like fashion.
I sure hear that!! The effects of divorce on children and families aren’t always negative. Sometimes they are a huge positive!
I could hardly restrain myself when my parents divorced when I was a kid. It was such a HUGE relief that I wanted to jump for joy and shout the good news to the entire world. One of my siblings understood and was also glad. Getting a divorce was one of the most RIGHT things my mother ever did.
Some kids do suffer and struggle, and from what I see in young parents today, there is a huge disconnect between parents and kids. Many parents today don’t even have sense enough to put a hat on a baby in the winter time, and put nothing but receiving blankets on the child in a cold plastic chair. It’s pathetic. And most frequently, don’t know how to set limits on behavior in public.
Yes, the parents need to be educated but I’m not sure government force is the answer.
