I would look at an Article V convention the way a doctor is supposed to look at a patient - "First do no harm". I can't imagine how you can avoid that if you get all these bozos in the same room and let them mess with the Constitution.
2/3 of states are needed to call the conventions. Just make sure the 17 most liberal states in the union are not included in the ones calling for the convention. Don't allow delegates from those same states in the convention. Then have any amendments ratified by state conventions, rather than the legislatures, so that there will be some hope in Hell of getting ratification in 38 states.
