As a collector and a freeman this breaks my heart.
Obama is praising Australia, and says he’s ashamed of America for not being more like them. Hooray, they’re all disarmed sheep now.
uring his Tumblr Q&A Tuesday, President Obama hailed Australias confiscation of firearms following the 1996 Port Arthur shootings:
Couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown. And Australia just said, well, thats it, were not doing, were not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they havent had a mass shooting since. Our levels of gun violence are off the charts.Theres no advanced, developed country that would put up with this.
The Port Arthur Massacre had Martin Bryant, a 28-year-old from New Town, shoot and kill 35 people and wound 23.
Predictably, Obama praised a government that forced its citizens to give up their guns because of a national tragedy.
Charles Cooke of National Review summed up the real message behind Obama’s praise of Australia perfectly:
Notice anything interesting?
I have had discussions with liberals who own guns; one man inherited his grandfather’s collection. Without exception they all insist the dems aren’t out to confiscate our guns. Hussein’s recent praising of Australia’s confiscation should be enough to convince anyone. But if they were smart enough to get it they wouldn’t be dems.
He avoided using the word “confiscation”, because, among other things, he is a coward.
Bump!
They make me sick, I have a C96 mauser.
Dang thing been around since 1896.
It did not start violence, Hell Churchill loved his.
We will never give up! We will never surrender!
Excellent episode of AMC’s “Turn” (Against thy neighbor)
Loyalist British occupied Setauket begins to struggle under the weight of occupation so someone tries to poison Major Hewlett and shoots Judge Woodhall.
The british respond by ordering all firearms to be turned in. Next British soldiers begin dragging Setauket citizens from their homes in the middle of the night.
The episode ends with a scene of the gallows being erected.

If you havent seen this show you dont know what youre missing. Its a drama but the history is very solid. Its about Washington’s Culper spy ring during the revolution. The season finale was this last Sunday.
What a great show!
Still trying to sort out Capt Simcoe and Robert Rogers loyalties.
TURN is excellent. I got goose bumps when George Washington was finally shown.
The left-wing (socialist) media and educational establishment controls what most people are allowed to know about history, so consequently they know nothing about what happens when government disarms the public. It’s always been the goal of socialists to reduce the population to powerless sheep so that they can do whatever they want free of the traditional concepts of morality.
It’s so sad reading about people who’ve lost their guns overboard in a lake. All that neat stuff lying there on the bottom rusting away .... sad.
Robert Rogers was a mercenary who was loyal to the highest bidder and that happened to be the British.
Really a fascinating historical character who contributed a great deal to America over the years. Our military still uses Rogers Rules.

*sniff* shedding tears.
So sad.
It looks like Simcoe is going to a British prison for the insane. But he might wiggle out of it. He’s one of the best villans ever.
Rogers is a hard ass and unpredictable. Maybe he’ll turn.
Great program.
Great show. Mrs. 40 and I have not missed an episode.
Indeed he was a mercenary and therefore an Independent.
The fellow strikes me as ruthless but egalitarian.
That’s why I’m such a shameless promoter of the show. AMC really nailed it with Turn. A really solid pro American history based show. James Riley wrote a great crtique of the show and he’s a solidly conservative filmmaker.
