No worries.

I respect the founders immensely. These highly educated and well read men distilled every political system that had been tried down to a few simple rules that have worked for quite a while.

They couldn’t foresee the speed and ease of movement and communication we have now. If they had known that someone in orbit and half way around the world from you could talk to you face to face in real time, do you think they’d have allowed for Executive Action in the first place? If the Constitution and Bill of Rights were being written today, the idea that anyone could possibly be out of communication would be met with howls of laughter.

They predicted well. Wrote as clearly as they could. Just - they couldn’t foresee everything. And the pigmies standing on their shoulders right now have not a hundredth of their knowledge, understanding or passion.

Yep, just like they couldn’t have seen the invention of airplanes or nuclear weapons which I fundamently think are arms that we have a right to. Back then the citizens and the military were pretty evenly matched. Being armed wasn’t about personal protection or hunting but a way of keeping an eye on a developing tyrannical government. But I’m sure I am preaching to the choir.
