To add to Our Lord's endorsement of singleness, there's also St. Paul's:
1 Corinthians 7-8 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.
and
1 Corinthians 7:32-35 I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lords affairshow he can please the Lord.
But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world--how he can please his wife--- and his interests are divided.
An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lords affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this worldhow she can please her husband.
I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord."
Notice there's nothing there about "vestal virgins". St. Paul says his personal endorsement of celibacy is "that you live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord" and "for your own good."
Stop making sense. It only confuses them.
Sh'aul's recommendation is NOT a commandment of YHvH. OBTW YHvH commanded all to marry including the High Priests. Celibacy is only found in Pagan religions. What does this verse have to do with vestal virgins ??

” A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach.”
