Then the American people--in a series of astonishingly stupid and suicidal acts--elected Democrat Presidents and Congressmen who drew defeat from the Cold War's dead corpse and stupidly revived it.
It was really up to the Russians themselves. They needed a de-sovietization program back then; no one was going to do it for them. Instead a new generation of soviet robots has grown that learned nothing from the lessons of history. Of course us electing mediocre presidents at best did not help, but the problems of the Russian people cannot be resolved from the White House.
