Here’s the question to ask EJ. Say we are in the midst of WWII (we are still embroiled in the war with terrorists). The Nazis capture one of our soldiers, but as best we can tell he was a deserter, & indeed went in search of English speaking Nazis. We happen to have in custody five of the Third Reich’s top generals. While the war is still raging, do we do a swap?

Not that EJ would ‘get it’, even in this form. He’d wiggle out of it somehow; moonbats always do.

It’s from a term used aboard ships. If the sailor was below deck and had to throw up or take a dump he used a bucket. When they dumped the bucket overboard or out a porthole they yelled “Watch under” and that was shortened to chunder.
I heard it on an episode of “Turn” a few weeks back and went looking.

Thanks.

Live and learn.

However preferable, it does lack the alliteration of the crude colloquialism. ;-)

You do like alliteration a lot, lyby; it's loverly and luscious.

How can he be a prisoner of war when no war has been declared, much less driven to win? This is no different than kidnapping cases in this country where the victims are held for years. EXCEPT—this jerk was a deserter from the military.

It’s hard not to be cynical after the display of rancid partisanship that greeted the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl after five years as a Taliban-held prisoner of war.

I see this development as a positive thing. Lefties are finally admitting we are at war.

Here’s a ghastly thought. Politico today features a long piece entitled, ‘Will Obama Ever be Popular Again. The conclusion is no, not under present conditions. A couple of situations, however, were mentioned that could life Obama’s numbers—most notably a ‘rally round the POTUS’ moment. I.e.: a major terrorist attack.

Could it be that Obama recalls how high Bush’s approval jumped after 9-11? Could he have released the five most dangerous terrorists in Guantanamo *in hopes* they would strike again? Did Lurch let the cat out of the bag when he spoke of hunting them down with drones [so Obama could be a ‘hero’ again, like he was after the Special Forces killed Bin Laden]?

The answer could be multiple ‘yeses’.

E J Dionne, is nothing more than a socialist twerp who never served in the military but likes to write about the military. There was a time when deserters got the firing squad, and if its proven in a court martial that he deserted, he should meet a similar fate.

Many who heard about my work were surprised I am not black or deaf. Some became angry and tried to destroy me because I am neither black nor deaf.

You COULD claim that your parents SO loved this guy that they named YOU after him. But, you are your own person and wouldn't DREAM of copying anyone.

I was named after my father, the man I most respected.
