This apparently was one of the documents compliments of Bradly Manning's leaking. The timeline fits.

Lamo informed Army Counterintelligence, and Manning was arrested in May that same year. The material included videos of the July 12, 2007 Baghdad airstrike, and the 2009 Granai airstrike in Afghanistan; 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables; and 500,000 Army reports that came to be known as the Iraq War logs and Afghan War logs. Much of the material was published by WikiLeaks or its media partners between April and November 2010.[7]

I thought the capture claim was realistic (”he was taking a expletive” and something like “he didn’t get to wipe yet”) - bergdahl was clearly not very smart on things.

I don't think you can read it that way. Why are the 15 "ordinary POWs"? (My position is that the U.S. holds no POWs -- only illegal combatants, but we'll leave that be for a moment.) Is it possible -- just possible -- that the bad guys were thinking of the 5 top "generals" in addition to 10 other Taliban members and cash? If so, perhaps the Taliban didn't come close to their original offer.

This is evidence that Oliver North is flat out wrong when he said the kidnappers were only interested in money and not an exchange of terrorists for Bergdahl.

Your version is certainly plausible. Perhaps the U.S. Army simply misinterpreted the intercepted communication. My first thought, though, was that these particular Taliban members / sympathizers didn't know exactly what happened and were making stuff up.
Then you would agree that the charge that he was “kidnapped while sitting on a latrine” would be and error? I figure the gov will try and use this as evidence he didn’t go AWOL but was taken against his will.
