Exactly. They are heroes to the foot soldiers. That makes them more suspicious to the current leadership, not less.
Not quite the same there. Being a hero, or a revered leader is not as it is in the West. It’s clout and, for want of a better word, political influence. Arabs are all about status, they are worse than Hollywood!
