The NRA has clout because they base their endorsements on records. It Cochran has voted right, they’ll support him, not desert him just because someone else comes along who “says” they’ll vote the right way.
They’ll do the same for a Democrat who consistently votes the NRA positions.
This is why, when Congress and the Presidency were in solid Democrat hands, the NRA positions continued to prevail. Every Democrat receiving NRA endorsements knew that those endorsements would end the day they caved.
The result: Advancing gun rights nationwide, even with this bozo as President and with the Senate more than willing to go along with him.
