HARRISBURG, Pa. Democratic upstart Tom Wolf leads Republican incumbent Tom Corbett by a formidable 20 points as Pennsylvania's gubernatorial campaign shifts into gear for the general election, according to a poll released Wednesday.
The survey of 1,308 Pennsylvania voters by Connecticut-based Quinnipiac University showed Wolf backed by 53 percent and Corbett by 33 percent.

Let me guess that Corbett pissed off too many conservatives
Not only Conservatives, but everyone. Pennsylvania and Florida have the WORST chances at keeping the Governorships.
Too many Kool-Aid drinkers in this state who think the unicorns will start pooping Skittles again if we would only tax the bejeebers out of those EEEEEEVIL Shale Frackers.
Many Conservatives I know did a write-in for PA Gov. in the primary. There is so little enthusiasm for him that I do not see him winning.
Actually, Rick Scott in FL has turned things around dramatically in the polls. I think Corbett is the most endangered followed by LePage in ME.
Raising gas taxes 28 cents a gallon over a five year period pretty much baked the cake for this guy.
I will never vote for Corbett.
They ruled against the candidate running against Corbett throwing him off the ballot after the voting machines were set.
That meant most of the anti-Corbett votes in the GOP Primary didn’t officially count unless they were write-ins.
The GOPe machine is strong in this state. They opposed Taft, Goldwater and Reagan every chance they could.
I hear ya. I can’t stand him. We have been disarmed with political arguments for voting republican. I will vote for him though holding my nose. The other choice is worse. Sorry.
Pennsylvanians kiss your guns good-bye if the Dem wins. They already have an anti-gun elected Democrat AG.
I wouldn’t dismiss the re-election chances of Paul LePage, Maine’s TEA Party conservative governor.
The presence of an “independent” (i.e. liberal) in the race (Elliot Cutler) will siphon off a chunk of the dem vote (2nd district Congressman Mike Michaud).
The State GOP establishment is disgusting. They bullied Guzzardi off the ballot with frivolous court challenges. If Corbett loses by a huge margin, it could have devastating effects in terms of keeping the legislature which, while certainly not very conservative, has been a bulwark against anti-gun measures. Shame on the hacks in the GOP in my state!
Considering what a sickening coward that Corbett showed himself to be by caving to the homo-fascists, I certainly would never give him my vote, under any circumstances. I’d stay home. But I’m not a PA voter, though.
Corbett has pissed off the conservatives and Christians, so how do you think he’s got a chance to win?
This is why RINO’s lose elections. They have no real voter base.
The republicans controlled the governor’s office and the senate/house in PA by large majorities for the last 4 years.
What did we get?
No public union pension reforms
No banning teacher’s strikes
No privatizing liquor stores
But we did get:
LARGEST gasoline taxes in the nation
Massive increase of tolls.
No tax cuts
Public unions still out of control
Bailouts of the Philadelphia school system
WHAT THE F*CK GOOD ARE THE REPUBLICANS???
The Democrats taxation of frackers plays to the radical enviros but doesn’t satisfy their demand of an outright ban on it.
Its like Republicans demonizing illegal immigration, then proposing to “fix the system”.
The politicians of both parties don’t deliver on what the grassroots want, they just make emotional speeches and pretend to be on our side and manipulate the issue to get money out of someone’s pocket including the big money that supports them.
raised taxes and refused to defend marriage
he’s toast
Then we will have some civil disobedience in this state, I guess, but fear doesn’t work with me anymore.
I won’t be manipulated by the emotional games of the political machine anymore.
Don’t worry. The GOPe machine drew the lines to favor them after the 2010 election.
The nasty thing to see if Wolf wins is how the GOP majority in the legislature will cave and cut deals with him.
And Wolf is running commercials saying he’ll tax those nasty energy companies and give the booty to education.
