I appreciated the gesture, but like so many others who sing the anthem, she pronounced rockets as rockits, and perilous a perulus.

Regional accents.I say "rockits" and "perulus" myself.Folks in other parts of the country might say it differently.

There are accents and there are mispronunciations. IMO hers were the latter.
