I wonder if Candyman can change people in key positions if he even wants to.
If he can and does make changes that will say a lot about what sort of future Ukraine is going to have.
The way the coup set things up can't last so it's a question of whether there is going to be any change that ends obvious corruption like people holding multiple posts or just a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. We'll soon see whether or not he's just another "made guy" from a different crime family or someone interested in at last shedding the corrupt system they've hung onto since Independence.
Friends have told me about rumors they hear, mostly about "important people" I don't know from Adam's house cat. They admit that every rumor they hear is accompanied by one that says the exact opposite, though, so it seems to me like people there are pretty much in the dark, too.
I hope someone will break away from the herd and start doing real reporting from Ukraine before long. Until that happens those of us who won't bend over and grease up for Barry and the Coup Kiddies will just have to be "Putin lovers" since that canard is the current fad.
Thank Gawd one guy chimes in with "Commie Bastard" now and then to break the monotony.
The Feb 21st Kiev agreement had constitutional reform as a top priority with elections to follow. The idea was for the Ukrainian people to know what powers the people they were voting for were going to have. This would have put pressure on the politicians to work out real reforms prior to having the people vote on their efforts.
As it stands the Ukrainian people have given their government a blank check and the chance for real reforms are (imo) greatly diminished.
