I wonder if, in all this rush to predict doom and disaster from global warming, anyone has considered the observed phenomenon of urban heat sinks or urban heat islands. The Southwest is increasingly urbanized and cities are growing in the Northeast. Just my wild shot.
It all depends on the location of the sensors and many are not installed according to the prescribed siting criteria.
