Controversy over the prisoner exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl — and over allegations he abandoned his Afghanistan post — has brought blowback on businesses in Hailey, Bergdahl’s hometown.
The Hailey Chamber of Commerce has received hundreds of phone calls from people angry that the community had planned a June 28 “Bowe is Back” celebration for a possible deserter, Chamber Membership Director Kristy Heitzman said. The Chamber wasn’t organizing or sponsoring “Bowe is Back” but promoted the event on its Facebook page, she said.
Organizers cancelled the event midday Wednesday.
Some of the angry callers are veterans, Heitzman said. One angry caller said he was a trucker saying he would make sure to stop in Hailey to dump off his trash, she said.
“They say we’re kind of a disgrace, or what a shame it is to have a celebration for a traitor,” Heitzman said. “They say they had planned on coming to the area to go fishing or camping, but now they won’t be coming to Idaho.”

Is Idaho going to be known as the sharia state?
He should denounce his captors in the worst way and with harsh words and to thank his fellow solders for trying to rescue him and others who helped gain his release.
Anything short of this reaffirms and solidifies what everyone have been saying about him.
Then there should be a legal due process and if necessary, a court martial and time in prison.
I think Hailey is the lone hippie area in Idaho.

There are a few: Hailey / Ketchum / Sun Valley is the first and worst; Moscow, where I work, and they're starting to infiltrate Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint because those are resort communities full of amenities for the well-heeled. Usually they don't last through the first winter.
We're discussing levying a bounty, if we could market liberal-hide belts and hat bands.
Bergdahl can’t do that, he knows the truth.
I have a feeling, that after meeting the President in the Rose Garden, Bowe-baby will head back to Dulles and board a plane for Turkey or Pakistan. We will never hear from him again until Al Qaida strikes the US with Bowe as one of the leaders...
