I would agree with that. My brother thinks the boom will run another 2-3 years, I think 4-6.

The EIA says that most of the big increases in the Eagle Ford and the Bakken will be done by the end of 2016.

The real question now is steep will the production rises be in the Permian basin. The Permian basin is reputed to have a lot more oil than the Bakken and Eagle Ford combined. The drillers have only begun to apply the best methods for extracting oil in the last year or so to the Permian Basin.

But as I understand it the Geology of the permian basin is much more complicated than the eagle ford or the bakken.

so the jury is still out on how fast and how far permian production will rise.

It will be interesting. They have been going back into all the old fields that were doing water flooding before the bust in the early 90's and re-drilling/fracking the wells. I wonder if they are doing that on the Sprayberry, which was not doing secondary recovery then.

There was some talk about some of the older secondary recovery fields going on to tertiary recovery (CO2 injection).
