Not much has been heard from former British Prime Minister Tony Blair lately. But in recent days, he has waded into the debate surrounding the next EU Commission president. In an interview, he also predicts that the British will vote to stay in the European Union. [ ]
I believe that Britain ultimately will vote to stay in Europe. In the end, the British understand the folly of leaving Europe. I dont accept that the British are as anti-European as everyone says. It is a matter of fact that no-one has ever won an election on a platform of hostility to the EU. I won three elections as a pro-European. Margaret Thatcher won her first two elections as a pro-European.

Voting is only for making their subjects feel like they are participating.
The folly is to keep risking Britain in the EU. just like I would rather put my money in my neighbor’s trust than the Federal Reserve.

Britain not being in the Schengen Area is a good thing.
Actually it was the end of the last ice age that caused them to leave Europe. They will be reunited once again when the ice age returns.

The graphic on Post 7 would look more realistic if they had a picture of a big, hulking leech (PIIGS countries?) attached to the blue EU circle.
Rather a weak argument, if I may say so. The conventional definition of a continent, of which Europe is one, includes all islands resting on that continent's shelf. The British Isles have therefore always been included in the geographical Europe.
