To think that a heavy cruiser that survived the Pearl Harbor attack & WWII, and served more than thirty years in the Argentine navy, got deep-sixed in less than ten minutes after being torpedoed by a British sub. That was more than three decades ago.

Maybe the Argie supertugs will carry depth charges. /s

Light Cruiser. The General Belgrano was a Brooklyn class light cruiser.

She was formerly the USS Phoenix, launched in 1938.
