Real conversation with my Lib B-I-L about five years ago.
ME - If you really want to reduce Fossil Fuel usage, expand Nuclear Power.
HIM - Nuclear Power is dangerous.
ME - No it isn’t, Urban Legend.
HIM - What about that Nuclear Accident?
ME - What accident, oh yeah, Three Mile Island, right?
HIM - Yea, what about that. It wasn’t safe.
ME- Really? How many people died at Three Mile Island?
HIM - Confused look. I’m not sure. (I knew it).
ME - Well, what do you think, Ten?
HIM - I think it was more than Ten.
ME - Really, what do you think, Twenty?
HIM - That sounds about right.
ME - No, guess again.
HIM - Twenty Five?
ME - You’re going in the wrong direction.
HIM - Fifteen.
ME - I’ll give you a hint, ready?
HIM - OK
ME - One less than died in Ted Kennedy’s Oldsmobile.
HIM - Glares at me, gets up and walks away. Then he stops, turns around and says, “What about Chernobyl”?
ME - Chernobyl? That was built by Commies like you.
END OF CONVERSATION. We didn’t talk for six months.
