How about we all give a POW of five years the benefit of any doubt until we KNOW better?

Is that too much to ask?

You REALLY need to read up on this.

The soldiers in his own company said he deserted, and soldiers were killed looking for him. This is seriously bad.

I have a suspicion that, even given the benefit of the doubt, Bow Bergdal will not be answering any questions. He may indeed come from a very good family ( although his father seems to have gone over the edge from this ordeal). But that can’t negate the multiple reports (from people ho claim to have been in his unit) that he wandered off. Also, a few years ago, a reporter named Michael Hastings (yes the one who recently died) wrote a story that featured some damning emails - allegedly authored by Bergdal.

Either there is a very large conspiracy against him - or he deserted.

Through Taliban videos, he has had the opportunity to give ‘his side’....and he stated he fell behind on a patrol. This does not mesh at all with reports that he left behind his weapon, while the unit was in a defensive position for the night. So I’m a little skeptical.

But I am willing to given him the benefit of the doubt. One sincere question: What is the expiration date on that? Because I expect that a year from now, he will not have answered any questions. After a year, would you agree that something is rotten...I believe he and his family will try to use the passage of time to hide the whole truth....so I think there should be an expectation that at some point he respond to the accusations against him.

Benefit of doubt— sure. Benefit of facts... of course. And the facts as gleaned through military leaks and early emails from a member of his unit, show the sucker planned this, misleading his “new age” father with a “conscience” trip to “find himself” in the mountains. Only it wasn’t-— he was immediately put up to propaganda by his pals who smoked hash with him and got him to the Taliban local leaders who took him to Pakistan (the vacation spot for our current present___dent in chief btw while he was at occidental college).

Anyone who has an ounce of understanding of Aghanistan, from the history of the Brits there at the very least, would understand how a kid, who tried to join the French Foreign Legion (and was rejected, and that is saying something for the “foreign” legion who takes criminals with a new identity), then joins the Army and goes to Afghan to “help the people” (our new mission apparently instead of finding al-zawahiri)..... how just such a misfit “went native” having violated 2 of his General Orders (offenses that are good for 10 years in Leavenworth). He had help from the local spy system and walked off his base.

My question: how are we going to “know better”? Do you think that any kind of truth will be coming from this criminal administration of islamofascist enablers?

I am an (relatively) old vet of the 25th ID but I follow some 25th blogs and FB pages and let me tell ya, the grunts arent happy.

At all.

thats enough for me, all i need to know who this desserter really is. one thing he sure isnt, thats a hero.

This story is so odd, and to think we have 2 more years of this mess.

I see the regime trying to make a hero out of this guy.
I see Nick Berg
I see The Manchurian Candidate
I see dead people

I feel sorry for the shock the people who are praising this guy will feel when the truth comes out.

YES! IT IS TOO MUCH TO ASK!

Why don;t you start by asking the families of those who were killed looking for the POS who willfully walked away from his post in the middle of the night? We have first hand witnesses (villagers) who say they saw him in their villages (more than one) asking to meet the Taliban. His first hand account on Taliban TV says he was taken from the back of a patrol. We know he was on guard duty.

Who the hell are you? The newly minted family spokesman? You have been all over every other thread on this issue trumpeting the same bullcrap. The history of this loon is well documented from the time of his “departure” by those first hand witnesses and then we have the family praising Allah as the most merciful and compassionate?

I’ve had it with you and the rest of your Hollyweird crowd who couldn’t face the fact that it was they who screwed up Kalifornja so they hit their reset button and decided to infect that town in Idaho you call home and start the process all over again.
