I don’t know who said it, but when dealing with the government and forced to decide between incompetence and conspiracy, incompetence will be the winner most every time.
My bet is that this is a result of team Obama being completely tone deaf and clueless when it comes to the US military.
They have the VA scandal, and the political weenies on team O figured bringing home a POW would give them poll bump because the military, veterans and their families and conservative in general are too slow witted to think beyond POW flags and yellow ribbons.
Team O did this because they thought it was the right thing to do...for Team O.
They certainly don’t care about the implications for the future. Hagel saying this is just a standard POW swap is laughable. Terrorists world wide now know that one American Private, no matter how he fell into your hands, is a potential epic victory. Never mind the danger that puts every American in uniform in, much less the havoc that those five Gitmo prisoners will create.
Never mind how or why Sgt Bergdahl was allowed to survive when other POWs, like Pvt Maupin, were executed. Never mind the statements that seem to support the enemy from Bergdahl’s father. Never mind the dubious, at best, circumstances of that led to Sgt Bergdahl becoming a POW.
Never mind anything except the political gain. The regime was looking for another Bin Laden moment, although this time, they’ve totally miscalculated. They really think so little of those in uniform and those who support them that a POW homecoming, no matter what it involved, would be an Obama win.
Maybe it’s part of a greater scheme, but I tend to believe it’s just that the administration really hates conservatives so much they think we are stupid enough to cheer this.
To: max americana
Why did we even save this bastard.
We didnt. Hussein DID because he will always stand with his muslim brothers. He deserves nothing less than to be hung for treason.

What u said!
I knew something didn’t smell right about the story..remember this, Obama never does ANYTHING for the good of the country, only for HIMSELF..traded 5 Taliban schmucks to get back one traitor but the left will only like him more, because after all, the left loves traitors and the left loves the Taliban

Interesting point. Kit is definitely a word I associate more with the Brits.
The day Obama breaks out the bands and bunting to welcome this deserter home, every patriot should fly the Stars and Stripes at half staff. This is just another kick in the gut to the USA by this enemy of our country.
True, but perhaps our boys picked up some Brit slang while serving along with them in Suckistan.
I am about ready to turn mine upside down.
Obama (piss be upon him)
I wonder if the guy on twitter took it down for his own protection from that POS 0dumbo?
Further I hope we charge this deserter with treason and murder
What American soldier ever called his gear his “kit”. Something wrong with that narrative if it was supposedly written by an American.
See comment #29.
Every patriot should fly the Stars and Stripes at full mast. Upside down.
I think you already know the answer to your question..
Perhaps “survival kit”?
Some posters have ventured that joint operations with troops from the UK may have introduced British slang into the narrative. It's possible but my experience is that Americans don't change readily.
I worked with UK troops and never referred to the hood of a truck as a "bonnet". Come to think of it, I never called the truck a "lorrie" either.
