A larger strategy is at work here. This is just one of many cases and a continuing trend of expanded use of executive power. Violate a law here, another law there, bypass congress, impose regulations by agency mandate, legislate on the fly, refuse to testify, etc. Get the populace used to the idea of absolute and arbitrary rule.

Obama knows Congress won't face the truth about how they're being abused so they'll make up stories to assure themselves it's 'ok'. It's not OK... Obama and goons are walking on them... Who ever's behind these choices understands social psychology...

Excellent and insightful post. At best, congress is in denial. At worst, its hiding is the shadows for fear of being exposed as the spinless invertebre it has become. Like a jellyfish, congress just drifts along with the currents.
